Series Overview: Have you ever thought about opening your own food service business? Have you said aloud, “I should open a food truck or a restaurant"? Do you know what steps to take to make this a reality? The six-part series, How to Launch a Food Service Business: From Spark to Start, will walk you through the steps to consider from the initial idea to obtaining your certificate of occupancy. Session #1 will provide a big picture overview that will be followed by five additional sessions where the essential fundamentals of opening and operating a food service business will be presented in more detail. Each session will provide tangible action items that if followed will make your idea of a food service business a reality by the end of the series! Session #4 Overview: There is more to menu development than writing your favorite recipes down. To run a food service business it is essential to have menu specifications, processes, and accurate food costs. This session will provide tangible resources to help you set your menu up from the beginning in a way that supports business growth. This session will show an actual food cost calculator, cash flow statements, and examples of P&L statements.
