This program, is pre-paid with tax dollars and is no cost for those accepted. This virtual education program that will provide a comprehensive understanding of the transportation industry and the requirements and steps to get your trucking business rolling.

• Courier and Local Delivery
• Long-Distance Trucking
• The different types of Commercial Driver's Licenses
• The application process for NCDOT and MC Numbers
• Freight and Cargo Insurance Requirements
• Unified Carrier Registration and more!

Eligibility Requirements:

• Participants must be in North Carolina with preference given to businesses operating in Union or Anson County.
• Participants MUST be able to attend ALL sessions. Virtual training dates are Monday and Wednesday evenings as noted above.

Those accepted will be enrolled in the program at no cost. The tuition fee, a $199 value, will be supported by the Small Business Center. Included with the program is one-on-one counseling with the program instructor.

Instructor:

Jackie Headley, MBA-FP, CSM, is a success-driven, transportation and logistics professional, educator and entrepreneur. She hails from Kingston, Jamaica and Toronto, Canada, and has called North Carolina home for over 20 years.

Throughout her professional journey, Jackie has accumulated valuable entrepreneurial experience. She began her career as a Financial Advisor, where she developed a loyal client base through her exceptional client care and support. Recognizing the need for a change, she made a transition to the transportation and logistics industry, which led to the establishment of JMR Logistics Group, LLC – DBA Savvy Consulting Group.

Within the transportation industry, Jackie has gained expertise in various areas, including dispatching, brokerage, and mentoring. She is deeply committed to sharing her knowledge and coaching others to launch and operate successful businesses in this sector. With her extensive experience and dedication to helping others, Jackie has become a driving force in the transportation and logistics industry.

Jackie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She further pursued her education and obtained an MBA in Financial Planning from California Lutheran University. Additionally, Jackie is a licensed Insurance and Real Estate Agent, bringing a comprehensive understanding of the financial and real estate sectors to her work.
