The Food Safety Modernization Act constitutes the largest change in the Food & Beverage regulatory environment in the past 80 years. Food and Beverage producers now have more stringent requirements for manufacturing their products. That includes alcoholic beverages. This presentation will focus on the Food & Drug Administration’s expectations for breweries, wineries, and distilleries under the Food Safety Modernization Act. A discussion of pertinent regulations will focus on training, Good Manufacturing Practices (Good Brewing Practices) and dealing with byproducts intended for Human or Animal foods. A discussion around best practices will also cover HACCP concepts, Preventive Control regulations, training and ingredient testing.
