This is training session #3 associated with the 2017-18 Wells Fargo Business Plan Competition. Anyone is welcome to attend. If you missed the previous two sessions it is recommended that you attend "How to Start a Business" seminar and "Marketing your Business" seminar offered by the Small Business Center. It is critical for a business owner to be aware of the requirements to own and operate a business and this session will provide information to assist you as you move forward in your business endeavor. You will hear from the NC Department of Revenue and the IRS, who will present and cover basic requirements to help you understand the laws and obligations necessary to be compliant. This session will include guest speaker Evette Davis, Tax Specialist with the IRS and Karen Bargsley, Customer Education Officer with the NC Department of Revenue.

This is training session #4 associated with the 2017-18 Wells Fargo Business Plan Competition. Anyone is welcome to attend. If you missed the previous three sessions it is recommended that you attend "How to Start a Business" seminar and "Marketing your Business" seminar offered by the Small Business Center. During this session you will be diving into the numbers. You will learn about cash flow projections and financial statements and why these are important to a new business. You will have an opportunity to hear from a panel of bankers and what they are looking for as they review business plans. Wells Fargo Works will also be highlighted during this session. This session will include a Wells Fargo Panel to discuss products, services, and financing. In addition, Lisa Valdez, attorney, will be speaking.

If you missed the previous four sessions it is recommended that you attend the following seminars "How to Start a Business", "Marketing your Business", "Bookkeeping for your Business", and "Financing Your Business" offered by the Small Business Center. During this session you will learn about the essential ingredients your business needs to succeed. We will review and discuss the things that will enable you to establish the proper business foundation so you can start a legitimate operation and have credibility with the community. You will also hear from a CPA who will provide you with essential information to assist you as you start and run your business. This session will also prepare you for next month's session on business plan presentations. You will be provided information to assist you as you prepare to complete your business plan and present. This session will include guest speaker, Travis Last, CPA.
