The Small Business Center (SBC) at JSCC is one of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina.  Our objective is to increase the success rate and the number of viable small business in Duplin County and the surrounding areas by providing high quality, readily accessible assistance to prospective and existing small business owners which will lead to job creation and retention.  We are a community-based provider of education and training, counseling, mentoring, information resources and referrals.  Assistance is available to anyone currently operating a business or planning a business start-up.  There is no charge for our services, but appointments for counseling sessions and advanced registration for seminars and workshops are strongly recommended.

Workshops & Seminars
We offer a variety of seminars in the areas of starting a small business, writing business plans, financial & cash flow management, using QuickBooks to manage your business, critical metrics for a small business, why some business are successful, creating a web page for a small business, using social media, improving credit scores & loan availability, and many others. Confidential Counseling
One-on-One Coaching & Mentoring
We offer confidential one-on-one counseling for the prospective or current business owner. These sessions typically identify the goals of the business owner & then help them develop a plan to succeed. If needed, referrals are made to other resources as appropriate.

We also have extensive networking & relationships with a variety of services & agencies, including the State Department of Commerce, Small Business Administration, State Business Licensing Information Office, Duplin County Economic Development Commission, Local Chambers of Commerce, NC Small Business Center Network, NC Small Business & Technology Centers, SCORE, & many other public & private sources of assistance.  We are located at (West Park) 946 Penny Branch Road in Warsaw, NC.  We look forward to working with you.
