The mission of the Small Business Center is to increase the number and success of viable small businesses in North Carolina by providing high quality, readily accessible assistance to prospective and existing small business owners which will lead to job creation and retention. Our Small Business Center is here to assist you by offering one-on-one confidential business counseling plus workshops and seminars on a variety of business topics. We are a community-based provider of education and training, counseling, networking and referrals.  All of our services are free!  Let our Small Business Center help you develop a plan of action to turn your dreams into a reality!

Guilford Technical Community College's (GTCC) Small Business Center, located in the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship in Greensboro and at the Chamber of Commerce in High Point, provides many resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses located in Guilford County, including:

We're working with business owners, city officials, and lovers of all things local to spread the word about the importance of getting local business information on Google Search and Maps. To get started, businesses just need to create an on line listing and verify their business for free with Google My Business. Local businesses are vital to America's economic future an fact, small businesses comprise half of the US GDP and create two thirds of all new jobs. And a though nearly all consumers look online for products and services, many small businesses do not have any web presence at all. We believe every small business should be found on line and we offer the ability to do this through Google products like Google Maps-for free. REQUIREMENTS BEFORE REGISTRATION - 1. Your business MUST have Gmail (email) account and be verified with Google 2. The workshop focuses on setting up a Local business listing in Google My Business. This type of listing can appear on both Search and Maps. Businesses with storefronts open to customers —and those that meet with customers in local service areas— can appear on Google Maps.
