Session 1:

This is session one of a Three-Part Series. Starting a small business is exciting, and most of us want to jump right into choosing a name or a legal structure — we go beyond that to create a foundation that will work for you! Join us and get ready to launch!

Every business has a place in the market — your business is part of a broader industry and community of customers. In this session, we will identify the key factors that drive success for small businesses and you’ll name what makes your business work. Next we will work through what makes your business different and how you meet your customers needs.

The time that you invest in planning out your business will ease the steps required for growing your business. Think about it like growing a garden — the right combination of sun, soil, fertilizer, preparation, and seed selection will decide how much success you have at harvest time. This is especially important because more than 50% of businesses close in the first five years of operation and fewer than 30% make it to ten years.
