Leading with Purpose is a full-day training event for nonprofit leaders and managers, featuring four focused sessions on the core skills that drive organizational excellence. Presented by Funding for Good, each session delivers practical tools and strategies you can put to work immediately.
Event Schedule 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM Session 1: Building an A-List Board
Build a board that is passionate, accountable, and results-driven. This session helps organizations evaluate their current board, close the gaps, and establish the systems and expectations needed to maximize board performance and mission impact. • Assess board strengths, gaps, and effectiveness • Set clear expectations and accountability systems • Recruit new members and strengthen board-staff partnership
10:45 AM – 12:15 PM Session 2: Creating a Culture of Strategic Thinking
Move beyond the annual strategic plan and embed strategic thinking into everyday operations. This session guides organizations through assessing current partnerships, identifying the right partners, and structuring resource-sharing for mutual benefit. • Assess current partnership realities and needs • Identify who could and should be a strategic partner • Explore resource-sharing options to maximize impact

Is your organization prepared for both planned and unexpected leadership transitions? This session equips nonprofit leaders with the strategies, documentation, and communication tools to keep the mission moving forward through any change. • Identify transition risks and protect organizational assets • Build thorough transition files for expected and unexpected turnover • Develop a proactive communication plan for staff and community
