Turning Your Art into a Business

Arts businesses tend to be different from other businesses because artists tend to be different from most people. We often find our passion as kids and follow it our whole lives. Not many plumbers or insurance executives can say that about their professions. Our work and our identity are the same thing, which can be both a hindrance and a superpower. Knowing oneself—and connecting that knowledge to the business venture—is important for artists. In this session, we will talk about methods and best practices for thinking about oneself entrepreneurially to turn the side gig into the main gig.
