Nonprofit Claim for Refund Workshop

The NC Department of Revenue will host a workshop for certain nonprofits that qualify for a refund of sales & use taxes paid. The workshop will focus on the step-by-step process for completing the Nonprofit and Governmental Entity Claim for Refund of State and County Sales and Use Taxes. This hands-on workshop is intended to help nonprofits better understand the proper procedure for requesting a sales and use tax refund. G. S. 105-164.14(b) provides that certain nonprofit entities are allowed semiannual refunds of sales and use taxes they pay on direct purchases and leases of tangible personal property and certain services for use in carrying on the work of the nonprofit entity, other than those exceptions set forth by statute.
