Crafting Your Ask
Are you passionate about your mission but panic at the thought of asking for money? Does asking for support feel more like “begging” for a handout when you approach potential donors? Our experts will guide participants through activities to shift the mindset around fundraising, so your team feels comfortable reaching out with requests of all sizes. This session is a perfect combination of storytelling and fundraising, wrapped up in a 2-minute ask. Join us as we teach nonprofit leaders how to identify major needs and talking points so they can become effective ambassadors for your organization. We will break down the different categories of nonprofit requests, highlight key charitable giving trends, and teach participants how to engage the board in prospecting. Participants will then tackle their fear of fundraising by learning how to craft and deliver the perfect ask. Objectives: • Understand the different types of “asks” in the nonprofit world • Outline current charitable giving trends • Clarify organization needs and prospects • Craft and deliver an effective 2-minute “ask”
