Every year the Federal government aims to utilize small businesses for at least 23% of its overall spending. Come join us online to learn about the SBA’s contracting certification programs and gain a competitive edge to sell to the Federal government. We will discuss the benefits of the 8(a), Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB), HUBZone, and Veteran Small Business (VetCert) certifications. Eligibility and how to apply will also be explained clearly. Mark Dahle, the speaker for this event, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a double major in Finance and Management as well as his Juris Doctorate (JD). His degrees are from the University of South Carolina. He worked in the construction industry and was a licensed general contractor in South Carolina before he practiced law in the private sector for over 30 years, in the areas of tax, business, estate planning, real estate, and elder law. Mark began working for SBA about four years ago during COVID and worked in the SBA’s EIDL (Economic Injury Disaster Loan) program before working for SBA’s SVOG (Shuttered Venue Operator Grant) program, analyzing grant applications and funding hundreds of millions of dollars in grants to Broadway, local museums, movie theaters, and community live theaters to sustain the Arts professions through the pandemic. He moved back to the Carolinas in October 2022 and serves as a Business Development Specialist in the SBA Charlotte NC District Office. He manages a portfolio of about 45 8(a) Certified firms and frequently lectures on Federal certifications, WOSB, EDWOSB, SDVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), and HUBZone certifications.
