NC Sales Tax on Services, find out what current or future business owners need to know
Room 223, capacity 24 seats. Make sure you register online in order to reserve your spot. The General Assembly last year approved extending the sales tax to many services like auto repair, installing modular homes, sign painting, some heating and plumbing work and even installation of tombstones. The changes were designed to increase sales tax revenue to offset some of the losses expected from cuts the legislature made in personal and corporate income tax rates and rules. They generally require a business that already collects sales tax on products it sells now also collect tax on the services it provides, as well. If you are a current, or prospective business owner who would like to better understand how this tax may impact you, please join us for this informative seminar. Our guest speaker is Jonetta Appling from NC's Dept. of Revenue. Jonetta Appling is the Voluntary Compliance Strategist for Taxpayer Assistance at the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
