Topic: Managing a Business

U.S. businesses are now losing around $60 billion annually to retail shrinkage. The vast majority of the losses are attributable to retail theft. This makes retail theft one of the biggest problems facing small business retailers today. Join us for a roundtable discussion on retail theft, what to expect when calling the police to report a crime and what is needed, as well as measures to prevent theft. Our speaker, Lt. Bowen will also detail some of the ways we communicate to the community our crime and safety efforts. Lt. David Bowen is currently assigned as the East Zone Commander for the Greenville Police Department. He has worked in both Patrol and Investigations throughout his career. As Zone Commander, he has implemented Larceny Reduction Initiative in 2014, served as a DDACTS Subject Matter Expert nationwide (Data Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety), and developed the East Zone Substation located on East 10th Street. He has also created groups for Retail Theft and student apartment complexes.
