Sat 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Topic: Start-up Assistance

**FREE Workshop - Sessions will be specific to gunsmithing business startups. Session 1: How to name a Business - LLC process, NC Data Base etc. In this session we will take a deep dive into the process of naming a business and then filing for an LLC. Participants should bring their laptops or tablets and be ready to follow along while we work together to start a small business. Session 2: Designing a Logo - Copyright issues, Canva In this session we will walk through the process of creating a logo. We will have a short color theory lesson as well as a lesson on the Elements/Principles of design. Students will apply the design concepts to their new business - my expectation is for each student to create 3 options for their business. If there is time, we may showcase the new logos. The final portion of class will be to introduce my favorite legal office for trademarks/wordmarks/and copyright needs. It's possible to do the application yourself - but not easy. I recommend using a professional. **You cannot use a Canva template for a business logo** Session 3: Branding/Marketing In our final session I will show students how to build a Brand Style Guide for their business using their new name and logo. Canva truly makes this easy! A style guide is very important if you are going to have a graphic designer vectorize your logo for you or if you are going to use a promotional vendor for branded items. This final session should take the least amount of time but will be the most beneficial to protect the integrity of their new brand.
