Speaker(s): Joanna Shumaker served 30 years as an officer in the USAF and the Air National Guard, retiring in 2011 as a full Colonel. She then spent ten years as a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina. Joanna is also an entrepreneur, having owned and operated several small businesses while working and parenting including direct sales, craft booths and brick and mortar stores in Montana, Alaska, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina. Joanna’s message is that you can reinvent yourself and harness all your superpowers at any age, as evidenced by her move to Yancey County in 2020 to begin a new chapter on her ridgetop retreat. She is here to both challenge and motivate you to find and use your own leadership voice and superpowers.
