y. Launching a nonprofit organization can be a rewarding way to make a positive impact, but it requires careful planning and adherence to legal requirements. In this 2-hour introductory class, you’ll gain insights into the basics of starting a nonprofit, including understanding the different types of nonprofits, the benefits and responsibilities involved, and the key steps for forming a tax-exempt nonprofit in North Carolina. Common questions and considerations around nonprofit governance, fundraising, and operations will also be covered.
This class is part of the Small Business Core Curriculum. Students who complete a class in each of the small business topics will receive a certificate of completion. The five topics are: Start-Up Assistance, Planning, Financing, Taxes, and Marketing.
