Understanding the Basics - Part II

This is the second half of a two-part course. It is not required to have attended Part I in order to attend this session but understand that part builds on the previous one's content.
The course introduces nonprofit leaders, staff, and volunteers to the essentials of fundraising. Many people think of fundraising only as events or asking for donations, but it is much broader than that. Fundraising is about building trust, sharing your organization's mission, and inviting people to support work that matters in the community.
It breaks down the basics step by step, using clear explanations and examples that are easy to understand. Participants will learn the different ways nonprofits raise money, why having a mix of funding sources matters, and the roles people play in fundraising. It will also explore how relationships, gratitude, and storytelling strengthen fundraising efforts.
The course ends with a practical activity to allow participants to begin creating a simple fundraising plan tailored to their own organization.

Program targets managerial level employees of nonprofit organizations operating in Lenoir, Greene, and Jones Counties. This professional development training is offered by the ENC Regional Roundtable for Nonprofits.
