EDGE OF INNOVATION ENTREPRENEURSHIP CAMP (Grades 9th-12th)
This hands-on, creative camp focuses on entrepreneurship, building confidence and working as a team. Over the course of a week, campers will work on problem solving, public speaking and creativity skills, as well as learn the ins and outs of what it takes to start a business. Eventually campers build their own businesses, culminating in a presentation of their business ideas to a panel. They will also hear from community members and local business leaders.
Each camp participant will receive an ECC t-shirt, lunch daily, supplies for the class and a stipend.
Space is limited to 15 students!
Topics covered in this camp and skills developed will include a mix of the following, but are not limited to: Business planning including feasibility analysis, marketing, sales, operations & finance Problem solving & creative thinking Time management & meeting deadlines Team building & negotiation Professionalism & presentation skills These sessions are very interactive and hands on to promote maximum engagement and learning.
Proposed Agenda:
Monday: Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Banker Presentation, Team Building, Select Business Ideas, Team Selections
Tuesday: Introduction to Marketing, Customer Profiles, Promotion Strategy, Unique Selling Proposition, Guest Speakers, Team Work
Wednesday: Introduction to Finance, Start-up Costs, Personal Budgets, Breakeven Analysis, Team Building Exercise, Team Work
Thursday: Introduction to Business Operations, Finalize Presentations, Practice Sessions, Pitches, Awards and Certificate Presentations
Each camp participant will receive a certificate upon completion of the Edge of Innovation Entrepreneurship Camp!
