The Idea Factory Session 2
Welcome 7th & 8th Graders to The Idea Factory! This transformative summer camp is offered in partnership with the Coastal Carolina Community College Small Business Center (SBC). Campers will work to identify a real-world problem, brainstorm, and develop a unique product or service solution, then turn their ideas into a business pitch and pitch deck. Through this partnership, students will be taught the same REAL Entrepreneurship Education curriculum offered by the SBC to their "Pitch It! Onslow" competitors. Students will gain crucial skills in marketing, planning, budgeting, and presentation skills, and will receive their own REAL Entrepreneurship student workbooks to keep from the SBC. The week culminates in the highly anticipated Sturgeon City Shark Tank style event, where each team will deliver a final pitch to a panel of "Sharks.". The top five finishers will win gift cards for 1st through 5th place! ** Participants who attend all 5 days and actively participate in the program will also earn their REAL Entrepreneurship Certificate of Completion. Registration Requirement To participate in The Idea Factory, parents/guardians must sign a Parental Permission Form. This form acknowledges both Sturgeon City and the SBC as participating agencies and includes a necessary photo release. Additionally, the form grants permission for the SBC to collect the parent's name and email address, along with the camper's name and email address. Get ready to build, brand, and pitch your way to success!
