Topic: Managing a Business

In so many situations managing in today’s small business is like herding cats. Employees are independent—often going their own way—and don’t respond to yesterday’s authoritarian management styles. How do you motivate and train today’s worker to do a great job for your small business? You might not like the answer: “It’s up to you…and them.” Today’s small business owners are under increasing pressure to get the job done and a wide range of personal skills are often the key to making it happen. In this seminar you will learn how to: - Motivate workers who are not performing - Use the only 5 Management Resources you have - Create structured and methodical training - Know when to say, “It’s my way or the highway” - Understand what workers really want - Hire better people - Recognize a good employee - Use low-cost rewards for better performance This seminar will be held in Room 7107 of Building 7 on VGCC's Main Campus.
