Economic Development in the Twin Counties

This discussion will focus on the economic development trends affecting the Rocky Mount area, opportunities that lie ahead, as well as offer perspectives on pathways to keep the community moving forward. Mr. Gerlach will also discuss the Foundation’s track record in the region, and provide some insights about the Foundation’s priorities in the future.

Speaker(s): Dan Gerlach has served in numerous roles to include a legislative budget analyst, nonprofit policy director and senior advisor to the Governor. He is currently on the boards of the MyFutureNC and the NC Early Childhood Foundation. Dan holds an M.P.A. in state and local public finance from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University and bachelor’s degrees in economics and English from the University of Notre Dame. He has served as an adjunct instructor of public administration at UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State University.
