Welcome to the Small Business Center (SBC) located at Blue Ridge Community College, part of the Small Business Center Network (SBCN). Blue Ridge Community College Campuses and the SBC are located in Flat Rock and Brevard, North Carolina.
  
SBCN is comprised of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina, that supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a community-based provider of local training, counseling, and resource information.

Local SBC training, confidential counseling, and resource information is offered at no cost due to funding from the State of North Carolina.
Services provided by the Small Business Center can be customized to suit your specific business needs. 

Each week we offer a program on starting and growing a business to answer all your question about requirements and resources offered  through the federal, state, region, county, and local cities.

Seminar: How to Negotiate the Perfect Workplace Lease Date: October 26, 2017 Day: Thursday Time: 2:00 - 4:00 PM Location: BRCC Transylvania Campus Room: TRCT 217 Description: Learn how to read a lease and find all the obvious and hidden “gotcha” clauses that may should be eliminated or modified – and business terms that should be added - before you sign that lease. You will be introduced to terms and concepts that will minimize your leasing risk and lower your occupancy cost – both initially, and if unexpected circumstances come your way. Bring in your lease and ask questions. Be ready for your next lease renewal or negotiation. This is not presented by an attorney and is no legal advice will be given. This seminar teaches you the important components of a business plan and helps you lay the foundation for a winning plan. Find out how marketing, operations, and finance are inter-related. Discover how a business plan is used by potential lenders, the dos and don’ts of writing a plan and steps for making the process easy. This seminar is designed for pre-start, start-up and existing business owners that want to create a business plan for 2018 to manage their business or access money through through local microloan organizations, SBA, traditional banks, angel investing, bootstrapping, crowd funding, etc. Use your plan to submit to the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce Business Plan Competition.

The seminar also introduces the three most important financial reports: cash flow, profit & loss and balance sheet statement, and discusses how business owners use them to make the best-informed business decisions.
