Welcome to the Small Business Center (SBC) located at Blue Ridge Community College, part of the Small Business Center Network (SBCN). Blue Ridge Community College Campuses and the SBC are located in Flat Rock and Brevard, North Carolina.
  
SBCN is comprised of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina, that supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a community-based provider of local training, counseling, and resource information.

Local SBC training, confidential counseling, and resource information is offered at no cost due to funding from the State of North Carolina.
Services provided by the Small Business Center can be customized to suit your specific business needs. 

Each week we offer a program on starting and growing a business to answer all your question about requirements and resources offered  through the federal, state, region, county, and local cities.

How to Start Your Own In-Home Ebay Business Day: Monday Date: May 23, 2016 Time: 10am-1pm Building: Continued Education Room: 122 This three hour lecture-style seminar provides an overview on the basics of selling on Ebay. The seminar covers the skills and requirements for sellers, hot sellers, the best kinds of auctions for the new seller, the fees involved, how to grade item condition, shipping, auction strategy and getting paid via Paypal. There will be time for questions at the end of the seminar. Information will be provided for upcoming, hand-on/in-home courses which will walk the student through the entire process from setting-up an Ebay site, creating an auction template, taking quality photos, tracking an item after it sells and more. By the end of the course, each student will actually have listed one item for auction.

Upon the completion of this seminar, participants will understand the key steps needed to start a business. This seminar is also good for existing businesses to better insure they have setup their business for sustainable success. Also learn what resources are available and requirements through the federal, state, region, county, city, for-profit and non-profit organizations to help you start or grow your business. Program: Word Press Website Overview Date: Friday May 20, 2016 Time: 1:00-5:00pm Location: BRCC Henderson County Campus Campus Building: Continued Education Building Room: 122 Cost: No charge due to support from the State of North Carolina and BRCC Small Business Center to assist entrepreneurs. Class Size Limited The goal of this workshop is to help business owners learn more about WordPress website and how it acts as a Content Management System. Class Deliverables: Participants will learn how to secure a domain name, select a hosting site for their website and pick out a theme. This class will be followed up in the afternoon with starting to create a Word Press website with the Theme.
