Welcome to the Small Business Center (SBC) located at Blue Ridge Community College, part of the Small Business Center Network (SBCN). Blue Ridge Community College Campuses and the SBC are located in Flat Rock and Brevard, North Carolina.
  
SBCN is comprised of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina, that supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a community-based provider of local training, counseling, and resource information.

Local SBC training, confidential counseling, and resource information is offered at no cost due to funding from the State of North Carolina.
Services provided by the Small Business Center can be customized to suit your specific business needs. 

Each week we offer a program on starting and growing a business to answer all your question about requirements and resources offered  through the federal, state, region, county, and local cities.

Tips to Creating a Business Plan or Entering Transylvania Business Expansion Competition Location: BRCC Transylvania County Campus - Brevard Date: Tuesday, August 30, 2016 Time: 8:00am-10:00am Building: Applied Technology Building Room: 220 Cost: Program is offered at no charge, due to sponsor support, from the State of North Carolina and Blue Ridge Community College Small Business Center. Description: Program is designed to help entrepreneurs looking to borrow money for your business or Transylvania County businesses entering the Transylvania Business Plan Expansion Competition. (First Place Prize $15,000 and Second Place Price $10,000) During the program, we will provide tips to filling out the Transylvania Business Plan Expansion Competition application and creating a compelling business plan. The business plan can be used by entrepreneurs as a supporting document for Transylvania Business Plan Expansion Competition or looking to borrow money to start or scale-up your business. A business plan can be the most important tool a small business owner has. Learn how to turn your ideas into a solid plan for financing and long-term success. This seminar teaches you the important components of a business plan and helps you lay the foundation for a winning plan. Discover the dos and don’ts of writing a plan and steps for making the process easy. This seminar is designed for pre-start, start-up and existing business owners that want to create a business plan for 2016 to manage their business or access money through through local microloan organizations, SBA, traditional banks, angel investing, bootstrapping, crowd funding, etc. Entrepreneurs that have taken BRCC SBC classes have won 4 first place business plan competitions in Transylvania and Henderson County. Entrepreneurs have also used their plan to secure funding from local financial organizations. Note: Class size is limited and takes place in a computer lab. If you have a lap top computer you can bring it.

Tips to Creating a Business Pitch to Promote Your Business Location: BRCC Transylvania County Campus - Brevard Date: Tuesday, August 30, 2016 Time: 10:00am-12:00pm Building: Applied Technology Building Room: 220 Cost: Program is offered at no charge, due to sponsor support, from the State of North Carolina and Blue Ridge Community College Small Business Center. Description: Program is designed to help entrepreneurs develop a business pitch for talking to a financial lender for a loan or the Transylvania Business Plan Expansion Competition. (First Place Prize $15,000 and Second Place Price $10,000 open to Transylvania County businesses) During the program, we will provide tips to helping you create your actual 60 second elevator pitch, and a 10 minute business pitch. Both of these you can use for the Transylvania Business Plan Expansion Competition or for entrepreneurs looking to borrow money from a local microloan organizations, SBA, traditional banks, angel investing, bootstrapping, crowd funding, etc

Company Exhibiting - 8/25/2016 BRCC Continuing Ed Building Room 122 3:00-5:00pm Henderson County Campus - Flat Rock, NC Company Exhibiting is designed for business owners that want to improve their ability to promote their company at public events through exhibiting to create more business. The program will help to better define exhibiting goals: Collect qualified leads from prospective customers; Launch new project or relaunch existing products; Meet with current customers; Building relationships and/or write orders; Conduct research among your target audience; or Find partner organizations. The program will help you review and improve visual techniques to attract more people to your booth display. The program will also help with what promotional tools you incorporate in your booth display such as computer monitor displaying an info-commercial; Flyers; Brochures; Handouts; Rackcards; Business Cards; "Ice breaker" such bowl of candy or healthy snack; or Prize drawing.
