Welcome to the Small Business Center (SBC) located at Blue Ridge Community College, part of the Small Business Center Network (SBCN). Blue Ridge Community College Campuses and the SBC are located in Flat Rock and Brevard, North Carolina.
  
SBCN is comprised of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina, that supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a community-based provider of local training, counseling, and resource information.

Local SBC training, confidential counseling, and resource information is offered at no cost due to funding from the State of North Carolina.
Services provided by the Small Business Center can be customized to suit your specific business needs. 

Each week we offer a program on starting and growing a business to answer all your question about requirements and resources offered  through the federal, state, region, county, and local cities.

Create a Business Plan Location: BRCC Henderson County Campus - Flat Rock Date: Saturday April 1, 2017 Time: 1:00-5:00pm Building: Technology Education & Development Room: 201 Cost: Program is offered at no charge, due to sponsor support, from the State of North Carolina and Blue Ridge Community College Small Business Center. Note: There will be an hour lunch break with local food establishments near campus: Subway, Popular Leaf Cafe, McDonalds, Zaxby's, etc Description In this day, create a business plan. A business plan can be the most important tool a small business owner has. Learn how to turn your ideas into a solid plan for financing and long-term success. This seminar teaches you the important components of a business plan and helps you lay the foundation for a winning plan. Find out how marketing, operations, and finance are inter-related. Discover how a business plan is used by potential lenders, the dos and don’ts of writing a plan and steps for making the process easy. This seminar is designed for pre-start, start-up and existing business owners that want to create a business plan for 2017 to manage their business or access money through through local microloan organizations, SBA, traditional banks, angel investing, bootstrapping, crowd funding, etc. Note: Class will take place in a computer lab. If you have a lap top computer you can bring it. Note: The Henderson County Chamber of Commerce Business Plan Competition is offering a business plan competition. This class will help you prepare for it. Application available in the class. Win Free Business Services - the 4th Annual Business Plan Contest Turning your ideas into a growing business starts with a plan. If you've got the determination and drive to create a growth company or improve your existing company, here is your chance to win and turn your dream into a reality! The Henderson County Chamber is sponsoring the 4th Annual Business Plan Contest with the winner receiving free services such as advertising, tax, legal, marketing and more! Interested participants will receive a copy of the detailed elements on which the business plan will be judges. The Business Plan Contest is open to business start-ups as well as existing businesses. You do not need to be a Chamber member to participate. Electronic submissions are due by Friday, April 7th and should be emailed to chamber@hendersoncountychamber.org. A panel of judges will select the winner, announce the results and present the award at the Blue Ridge Business Growth and Business Plan Awards Reception on May `1st - part of Small Business Week.

Seminar: Basics of Bookkeeping Date: December 19, 2016 Day: Monday Time: 8:00 am-10:00 am Location: Blue Ridge Community College - Henderson County Campus Building: Continued Education Room: 122 Seminar: Basics of Bookkeeping Description: This seminar introduces the new or prospective business owner to the fundamentals of understanding the types of financial transactions that are the most common and provides information about how to properly record them. The seminar also introduces the three most important financial reports: cash flow, profit & loss and balance sheet statement, and discusses how business owners use them to make the best-informed business decisions.

Class Size Limited Class Requirement: No Business Facebook Page or a newly created Business Facebook Page and you have questions on how to use it. Social Media FaceBook Boot Camp Part A: The goal of this workshop is to define, and explain how to setup and use a Business Facebook Page. The purpose is to give small business owners the chance to learn the basic building blocks for launching, running, and a successful Business Facebook Page. Will be in computer lab working on your Facebook Page.

Class Size Limited Class Requirement: Must take Social Media Boot Camp Part A or have an existing Business Facebook Page and familiar with posting Social Media FaceBook Boot Camp Part B: The goal of this workshop is to define, and explain how to setup a 2016 Business Facebook Page Campaign. The purpose is to give small business owners the chance to learn strategies to create, schedule and measure posts to their online community. Will be creating and scheduling posts in the computer lab.

The NC Small Business Center Network, in partnership with the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), is pleased to offer this innovative program to NC entrepreneurs and small business owners free of charge!
