Welcome to the Small Business Center (SBC) located at Blue Ridge Community College, part of the Small Business Center Network (SBCN). Blue Ridge Community College Campuses and the SBC are located in Flat Rock and Brevard, North Carolina.
  
SBCN is comprised of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina, that supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a community-based provider of local training, counseling, and resource information.

Local SBC training, confidential counseling, and resource information is offered at no cost due to funding from the State of North Carolina.
Services provided by the Small Business Center can be customized to suit your specific business needs. 

Each week we offer a program on starting and growing a business to answer all your question about requirements and resources offered  through the federal, state, region, county, and local cities.

Seminar: How to Start a Business Date: February 23, 2016 Day: Tuesday Time: 1:00-3:00pm Location: Blue Ridge Community College - Transylvania County Campus Building: Applied Technology Building Room: 220 Description: This seminar provides the basics for starting a business, including self-assessment, idea generation, legal structure, licensing, zoning, insurance, financing, market feasibility, and the key elements of a business plan. Upon the completion of this seminar, participants will understand the key steps needed to start a business. This seminar is also good for existing businesses to better insure they have setup their business for sustainable success. Also learn what resources are available and requirements through the federal, state, region, county, city, for-profit and non-profit organizations to help you start or grow your business. Example: BRCC's Small Business Center offers one-on-one confidential business coaching, training's and referrals at no cost due to State of North Carolina funding to help NC entrepreneurs. Example: Learn about free business legal assistance i.e. filing a LLC or Limited Liability Corporation in North Carolina from NCLeap for those that qualify.

Time and money can be spent in many ways. This seminar allows participants to discover how to most effectively and efficiently use the many marketing tools that are available today. Decision makers will go through the process of, 1) choosing between traditional brick-and-mortar and web-based business or one that combines both features; and 2) deciding whether to focus locally, nationally or to spread into the international waters of business.
