Success Story - Londyn Event Center
When Earnestine Hamlett began her journey, dreaming of opening her business as an event center, she envisioned creating a space for families and friends to gather and feel a sense of community and celebration. From jazz shows to stand-up comedy nights, her goal was to provide a space that felt vibrant and welcoming for all occasions. But like many entrepreneurs, she faced questions about where to get started. Why do I need a business plan? What kind of marketing can I do to grow my business? What funding options are available?
To help bring her vision to life, Earnestine visited the Piedmont Community College Small Business Center to receive one-on-one business counseling. Together, our counselors worked on creating a solid business plan, acquiring a brick-and-mortar location, and exploring marketing strategies to promote her event center. During her time working with the Piedmont Community College Small Business Center, she received over 22 hours of personalized counseling assistance with the support of our directors. With the Small Business Centers' help and support, Earnestine gained the knowledge and confidence to turn her dream into reality.
On April 5th of 2025, Londyn Event Center officially opened its doors. They welcomed guests into an elegantly designed ballroom that will hold weddings, banquets, and events. Since the grand opening, the center has hosted two successful events for the public and many more lined up in the coming months. She continues to build her reputation as a go-to venue in the heart of Milton, North Carolina.  Earnestine and the Londyn Event Center’s mission is “to bring family and friends together by celebrating birthday parties, retirement parties, baby showers, and other events creating lasting memories all with a touch of class”, Londyn Event Center is poised to become a cherished part of the community.
“The Small Business Center helped me a great deal, it helped me put together a business plan to put my dreams on paper and help them come true. I actively still seek support from the Director at the Small Business Center.”
