International Business

In today’s global economy it is increasingly evident that the “World is Our Marketplace.”

International Business is not just for the large enterprise; small companies can be extremely successful in the International Business world as well.

Global marketing is defined as that which “involves buying and selling goods or services that are produced, bought, or sold throughout the world.” The growing importance of a globalized market led to the prediction that “more than half of you will work in some aspect of international activities during your working life.” (Megginson/Byrd/Megginson, 2006, p. 212)

Opportunities exist for both Importing & Exporting:

  1. Importing:  involves purchasing & marketing other nations’ products
  2. Exporting:  involves marketing our (United States) products to other nations
