Bricks & Mortar: The Plan Review Process for Restaurants
When you want to open a food business, there are lots of rules about physical spaces, equipment and processes. In NC, in addition to inspecting for safety and sanitation, each county's Environmental Health Department is in charge of reviewing plans and issuing permits for new food businesses. This 90-minute overview will cover basic concerns when considering spaces to lease, purchase or renovate for food service including budgets, rules, applications and working with inspectors.
