Topic: Nonprofit

Non-Profit organizations must continually look for new funding sources and ways to support their services and mission to keep their doors open. Many non-profits find themselves almost completely dependent on grant dollars despite the fact that many grantors report that they have increased numbers of applicants vying for smaller pots of funding. This changing landscape in the grants world is forcing nonprofits to step out of their comfort zone and explore more diversified revenue streams. This workshop is designed to provide non-profit professionals with a comprehensive overview of fundraising streams, equip them to align fundraising strategies to their organization’s specific needs and provide tips on strengthening key donor relations, all while applying proven best practices. During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to begin evaluating their organization’s needs, determine where fundraising events can supplement their operations, what potential new diversified streams they could utilize and what roles staff, volunteer and board can/should play in development work. At the end of this session, you will be able to: Understand how grant writing/funds should and should NOT be included in a healthy and sustainable fundraising plan. Identify the diversified streams of fundraising and how your non-profit can expand its fundraising base through programs, social enterprises, projects and/or services Grasp the characteristics of and best practices for successful fundraising techniques.
