Union County Minority Business Makeover Contest - Final Day to Enter!

What: The Union County Chamber of Commerce and South Piedmont Community College’s Small Business Center are launching the Union County Minority Business Makeover Contest to provide a local small business with the opportunity to win a makeover. The winner will receive up to 50-hours of professional services from top consultants to help them transform and grow.

Services will include up to 10-hours in the following areas:

  • Accounting and financial advisory from the TL Turner Group
  • Human resources consulting services from the Employers Advantage
  • Marketing and sales strategy from Digimatiq Marketing
  • Strategic planning/business plan optimization from Efficio
  • Website assessment and consulting from Groopwork

The contest winner will also receive:

  • A 1-year Bronze-Level membership in the Union County Chamber ($550 value)
  • A featured story and 3-month advertising package with Tri-W News ($1,180 value)
  • A 30-second Waymark TV-commercial and a television advertising schedule that will run between April - June 2022 courtesy of Spectrum Reach


  • Contest entry period: January 17 – February 7
  • Winner announced: February 18
  • Consultant engagements: March – April

Who: The contest is open to businesses that meet the below criteria.

  • Business is located in Union County, North Carolina
  • Business is 51% owned and actively managed by a racial minority
  • Business is not a franchise
  • Business has been legally formed and operating for at least one month
