Topic: Nonprofit

When you take a look at your board of directors what do you see? Worker bees exhausted from the daily grind of keeping the organization running? Are there simply warm bodies in seats? Perhaps there are seats left empty by big name people who never seem to find the time for meetings? This workshop evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of your board. Participants will gain a clear understanding of who “could” and “should” be on their board of directors as well as processes and procedures to ensure that board members are screened, equipped, and empowered to generate impact for your organization. At the end of this session, you will be able to: 1) Understand board roles & responsibilities 2) Evaluate the effectiveness of your current board and identify the gaps 3) Implement strategies to increase board contributions/activity 4) Develop strategies to strengthen the relationship between the board and staff 5) Engage your board in basic fundraising/development initiatives A grant writing expert, executive coach, and national fundraising trainer, Mandy Pearce, CFRE, launched Funding for Good, Inc. in 2009 to equip organizations with the skills and tools needed to become successful and sustainable.
