The Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning (REAL) program is based on experiential learning exploring the key issues necessary to successfully start and operate a small business. NC REAL's hands-on approach appeals to adult entrepreneurs focused on starting or expanding a business. This course uses interactive participation to teach the skills to succeed as well as the techniques and procedure for a successful business venture. Through NC REAL, students learn many aspects of owning a business, including self-assessment, business feasibility, legal structure, marketing and financials with the opportunity to create a road map for their business. Upon completion, participants should be able to develop a viable business plan. This is a 24-hour course offered over 8 weeks. No previous business knowledge or experience is necessary.
