Google: Get Your Business On the Map: Business Verification
Let's Put Our Cities on the Map is an initiative to help local businesses increase their presence online. We're working with business owners, city officials, and lovers of all things local to spread the word about the importance of getting local business information on Google Search and Maps. To get started, businesses just need to create an on line listing and verify their business for free with Google My Business. Local businesses are vital to America's economic future an fact, small businesses comprise half of the US GDP and create two thirds of all new jobs. And a though nearly all consumers look online for products and services, many small businesses do not have any web presence at all. We believe every small business should be found on line and we offer the ability to do this through Google products like Google Maps-for free. REQUIREMENTS BEFORE REGISTRATION - 1. Your business MUST have Gmail (email) account and be verified with Google 2. To check if your business is verified or need assistance with verification –please contact Vonda Wingate – City of Greensboro Economic Development & Business Support @ 336-373-2995 via email at Vonda.firstname.lastname@example.org GET FOUND ON GOOGLE SEARCH AND MAPS This workshop will explain how to setup Google My Business–your one-stop-shop for managing business info as it appears across Google Search and Maps, and helping potential customers find important info, like your phone numbers, hours of operation, and driving directions. The workshop focuses on setting up a Local business listing in Google My Business. This type of listing can appear on both Search and Maps. Businesses with storefronts open to customers —and those that meet with customers in local service areas— can appear on Google Maps.
