Before You Start a Nonprofit, do this! A Not-So-Scary Feasibility Study

One of the first questions funders (foundations, corporations, individuals) ask is: "Does anyone else work in this area or provide the same services?" In this session, you will learn how to find the organizations that work in your area(s) of interest, how to create a landscape scan (fancy pants name for list of organizations and what they do), and potential ways to partner or collaborate. In the first hour, Natasha will set up the basic framework for the feasibility study. In the second hour, participants will work in groups to identify other organizations in their field or issue area; time for participants to work individually to research & document at least one organization's work, approach, target audience, budget size, and reach.
