Getting Your Book into the World

Program: Getting Your Book into the World Date: Wednesdays, May 3 and May 17, 2017 Location: Blue Ridge Community College Flat Rock, NC Building: Continuing Education Room: 122 Time: 2:00-5:00pm Cost: No charge due to sponsor support Getting Your Book into the world: 6-hour class (Two parts: 3 hours and 3 hours) Wednesday, May 3, 2 - 5pm AND Wednesday, May 17, 2 - 5 pm. DETAILS: In the first of this two-part class, participants will learn about brainstorming ideas, identifying narrative archs and pinpointing "lessons learned" that contain the kernels of wisdom and story worthy of becoming a book. For the second of two sessions, we'll review the "nuts and bolts of publishing" which include how to get your book out into the world through self-publishing and/or traditional publishing. Participants will learn about the benefits and pitfalls of each.
