Cyber Security Summit for Small Business

Cybersecurity in today’s world is an ongoing concern. This is especially true for small businesses. To address these concerns, the Richmond Community College Small Business Center is offering a FREE three-hour seminar designed to help business owners protect not only your own information but also that of your clients. The first part of this seminar will be conducted by Daniel Farmer, Regional IT Supervisor for the Court System of North Carolina. This will be followed by a round table question and answer session featuring panel members from banking, health care and the legal profession. This event will cover the following topics: • What is cybersecurity from a small business point of view? • What are the current trends in cybersecurity that would impact your business? • How much cybersecurity does a small business need? • What does a small business need to do now in reference to cyber security? Daniel Farmer works as Regional IT Supervisor for the Court System of North Carolina and is a US Army Veteran. He is an Alumnus of Capella University with a Graduate Degree in Organization and Management with a concentration in Information Technology Management. His undergraduate degree from High Point University in Computer Information Systems. He also holds several tech certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, MCP, and A+ as well as business certifications in Customer Service, Project Management, and a certification in Entrepreneurship from NCREAL.
