Week 4: Create - How to Develop a Product or Service

Course Description - This course will provide a guide on how to Develop a Product or Service from concept to launch.
Students will learn the Key Stages of Product Development, including Market Research, Prototyping, Testing, and Scaling.
The course will also cover the various methods for developing new products and services, including Design Thinking and Lean Startup.
The course will include both Theoretical and Practical Components, featuring Lectures and Case Studies.
Students will learn how to Conduct Market Research, to Identify Customer Needs, and to Create a Product or Service that meets those needs.
Additionally, students will learn how to use different Prototyping Methodologies to Test and Validate their Product/Service with Potential Customers.
They will also learn How to Use Data to make Informed Decisions and how to Plan and Manage the Launch of a New Product or Service.

Special Guest Expert: Desmond Wiggan, Jr, Founder of BatteryExchange

How the Accelerating Equity Series works
The program will be 8-Tuesdays 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28, 3/7
7-Tuesday ONLINE Webinars and the final Tuesday will be in person for the Randolph Small Business Pitch Competition at the Randolph Community College, Asheboro, NC.
The top three winners will be awarded a $750.00 Grant each.

Before you're ready to pitch to our panel, we'll walk you through all the Key Parts of your Business, and your Pitch Presentation, with subject matter experts from across the state. Our hope is to address barriers to success that many Minority Business Owners face such as Funding, Mentorship, and Network Connections.

Each week, you will learn from a different subject matter expert, with Dr. Jonathan Thill acting as the conduit from session to session creating continuity, as well as managing extended Learning Assignments that the participants will perform outside of class.

Additionally, you will meet with Dr. Jonathan Thill for one 1-on-1 coaching session wherein together you will create a 90-day Strategic Plan. Each participant will carry forward their Strategic Plan after the completion of the program (built upon the lessons taught in the Webinars and 1-on-1 coaching).

1/31.. Week 3: Navigate - Key Performance Indicators and Creating a Roadmap

2/21.. Week 6: Partner - Finding and Building the Right Partnerships
2/28.. Week 7: Market - Marketing and Social Media
3/7.. Week 8: Randolph Small Business Pitch Competition - this final session meets in person at Randolph Community College, Asheboro, NC

Each participant who completes the program will receive a free professional headshot, 1 year of membership to the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce, and a small gift.

Our Target Market is Black and Brown Business Owners in Randolph County.
