The Business of Self-Publishing
The Business of Self-Publishing is designed to help writers understand and navigate the complex world of book publishing and marketing. The workshop is designed to help attendees make sound business decisions about choosing a print-on-demand or other self-publishing company, developing a publicity program, and setting up a budget. Deliverables: This workshop covers how to: *Understand the business basics of publishing *Evaluate self-publishing companies *Build a platform to create a following and market a book *Budget for publication and marketing. The session will specifically cover: *Business plan basics with a focus on book writing and publishing *Keys to evaluating companies that offer self-publishing services *Understanding royalty payments and publication costs *Information on copyrights and other legal issues *Social media and platform building
