Business Tax Essentials

This seminar will cover the basic requirements to help NC businesses understand the laws and obligations necessary to be a tax compliant business.

Classes will be held online through WebEx. You must pre-register to attend.

Participants must have access to a reliable internet connection to attend.

  • filing and administrative requirements
  • basics of NC sales & use tax law
  • basics of withholding tax law
  • how to complete sales tax and withholding returns
  • basics of filing and paying online

To make sure you are filing your business taxes correctly and on time!

This workshop will help participants better understand the procedures and obligations of their sales and use tax. Topics that will be covered include sales and use tax basics, registering for an account, and learning about the most common types of sales and use taxes collected. In addition, there will be a Q&A session for participants to ask about preparing their sales and use tax returns.

Speaker(s): Joshua Peaks, Customer Education Officer with the North Carolina Department of Revenue, previously worked in banking with a specialty in consumer and business loans. He is a graduate of Eastern Carolina University.
