Basics of Bookkeeping

Do you know your product or service upside down and backwards, but the numbers just drive you up a wall? Do you work really hard but always seem to run out of cash at the end of the month? This workshop will help you to understand the difference between cash basis and accrual basis of accounting and single versus double entry bookkeeping. You’ll become familiar with those financial terms that confuse you but that accountants love to use, and you’ll get hands-on experience in recording transactions using a simple manual accounting system and preparing financial statements including income and expense statement, and balance sheet. Jess McLamb, president of The Roper Group, was an accountant for a bank for close to 20 years. Since starting her own accounting and consulting business, she has trained hundreds of entrepreneurs how to start, market and manage their own business.
