The City of Jacksonville, in partnership with the County of Onslow, Coastal Carolina Community College, the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC), the Jacksonville Onslow Chamber of Commerce and Jacksonville Onslow Economic Development, is pleased to host an Information Session on Hurricane Florence Recovery Work on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on October 16, 2019, at Jacksonville City Hall. The Information Session will include: presentation by Marine Corps Installations East and Camp Lejeune on the $1.7 billion scope of work to restore Camp Lejeune and MCAS Cherry Point; presentation by Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) on the recovery program design and contracting plan; presentation by NCMBC on activities to team general and specialty contractors, designers and suppliers with opportunities and potential prime contractors; identification of business support resources to help local contractors succeed in the federal market; and facilitated discussion of project challenges, including but not limited to base access and contractor housing.
