As a small business owner, you represent your company. Your confidence and image matters. As does your ability to respond to the questions, “What do you do for a living?” or “Tell me about your business?” As much as you “know” what you do and who you serve, answering these typical networking inquiries can catch you off guard or put you on the spot. But that does not have to be the case. You can be prepared and flexible in your answers. You can be poised and engaging. In this webinar, our presenter will demonstrate three typical scripts that you can use when describing your work. Once you see and hear these examples, you’ll become more comfortable creating your own responses. (You’ll have time during the interactive webinar to do it, too.) With a focus on being spontaneous and versatile, you’ll learn how to connect with the person (or group) in front of you. You’ll also understand the importance of including relevant or timely messages in your delivery. Finally, you will feel empowered as you realize that the tone of your voice is just as important as what you actually say. Whether you are at a networking event, standing in line at the post office, or in front of an audience, it is empowering to feel certain when sharing a short summary of your business – not to sell, but to serve.
