Tue 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Starting a Non-Profit Organization Launching a non-profit organization is much like starting a for profit business, with a few different steps. You register first with the Secretary of State, then, if you want your organization to be tax-exempt, you apply to the Internal Revenue Service for 501(c)(3) status, which is required if you intend for your organization to apply for grants. This seminar will take you step by step through this process at both the state and federal level. You will learn how to apply this systematic approach and how to avoid some of the most common pitfalls. As an added bonus, you will receive a customized checklist to ensure that your applications are complete with all the necessary supporting documentation, so that you get approved the first time around.
